Foreign Direct Investment & Business Development

ITTA understands the complex legal, political, and public relations aspects of foreign direct investment in the U.S. and has helped multiple clients successfully meet these challenges.

ITTA staff helps foreign companies to identify potential U.S. partners; analyze acquisition strategies; evaluate federal, state, and local incentives for investment; design business structures compatible with U.S. government regulations and concerns; and establish/open U.S. offices.

We have particular expertise in helping clients understand and meet the requirements of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), as well as to support companies in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) when classified work is involved.

ITTA also helps U.S. companies identify and evaluate overseas investment opportunities by performing due diligence on potential partners and business ventures, conducting country risk assessments, and finding sources of financing, including U.S. government agencies, foreign government agencies, international organizations, and venture capital.

ITTA can help develop an overall global marketing plan by identifying which markets offer the greatest potential for return, recognizing products and/or product lines with competitive advantages, and advising clients on laws, policies, customs and other country specific issues that could affect client interests.
