"Profiling the Telecommunications Infrastructure of China: Opportunities for Access from Space"

 

Industry, regulatory and political developments in the rapidly evolving China Telecom market were the subject of scrutiny at ITTA’s 2000 China Telecom Seminar at the Reagan International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. The Seminar, conducted October 23rd, was held in conjunction with the Space Foundation’s International Space Symposium. Seventy attendees representing worldwide telecom and space launch interests gathered for the ITTA event, which provided a comprehensive picture of the China telecom scene.

 

The ITTA China Telecom Seminar included special reports from:

 

- Dr. Paul Freedenberg, former Under Secretary for Export Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce;

- Richard Paddock of the China Telecom Office at the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration;

- Ann Weeks of the U.S.-China Business Council; and,

- Wallace Lopez of the Asia Technology Information Project (ATIP).
