business, Internet and the software industry. ITTA areas of expertise
include:
Market Entry
ITTA has special expertise related to
transatlantic cooperation in the defense and high technology sectors. ITTA
assists clients with both the commercial and regulatory aspects of
mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other business relationships
between US and European companies.
For example, ITTA advises and assists
companies with both the political and the regulatory dimensions of the
Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) process, as
well as Department of Defense requirements for the protection of
classified and sensitive information. Commercial issues related to NATO
and its agencies are also a special ITTA strength which enhances ITTA’s
ability to assist companies in achieving their European-related business
objectives.
EU Policy & Regulations
ITTA monitors and analyzes regulatory
and policy matters at the European Union (EU) that can affect companies
with Europe-related business operations, and provides early warning of
significant new developments. In addition, ITTA assists companies with
resolving specific business or regulatory problems in European nations
though, for example, the development of an overall strategy and
identification of an on-the-ground local team to assist the company. ITTA
also has expertise regarding the European bank for Reconstruction and
Development (EBRD) and can assist with obtaining financial support from
this institution.
Export Control
US and European companies based in
the US engaged in classified or sensitive work are subject to U.S.
export control laws and regulations. ITTA has many years experience in
advising companies on how to comply with such laws and also with obtaining
appropriate licenses for high technology and defense exports.
