Market Entry

ITTA has special expertise related to transatlantic cooperation in the defense and high technology sectors. ITTA assists clients with both the commercial and regulatory aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other business relationships between US and European companies.

For example, ITTA advises and assists companies with both the political and the regulatory dimensions of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) process, as well as Department of Defense requirements for the protection of classified and sensitive information. Commercial issues related to NATO and its agencies are also a special ITTA strength which enhances ITTA’s ability to assist companies in achieving their European-related business objectives.

EU Policy & Regulations

ITTA monitors and analyzes regulatory and policy matters at the European Union (EU) that can affect companies with Europe-related business operations, and provides early warning of significant new developments. In addition, ITTA assists companies with resolving specific business or regulatory problems in European nations though, for example, the development of an overall strategy and identification of an on-the-ground local team to assist the company. ITTA also has expertise regarding the European bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and can assist with obtaining financial support from this institution.

Export Control

US and European companies based in the US engaged in classified or sensitive work are subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. ITTA has many years experience in advising companies on how to comply with such laws and also with obtaining appropriate licenses for high technology and defense exports.
